Denní a noční přízraky

Denní a noční přízraky jsou imaginativní fotografickou sondou do mých raných dětských vzpomínek (z dob, kdy jsem věřila, že slunce je zvířetem, houba masem, že ve tmě se pohybují divné bytosti a že je schopná létat, nebo vysedět z kamene trpaslíka.)Ale tento inspirační zdroj by nebyl úplný, kdyby nebyl doplněný o pozdější četbu mytických příběhů, hororových pohádek a teoretickou znalost psychopatologií spojených s halucinačními stavy.
Fotografie Nočních přízraků znázorňují situace a činnosti, které nejsou běžné v zachycené noční hodině, ani neodpovídají fyzickému stáří jejich protagonistů. Jsou jakoby zmrazené v čase, v momentě překvapení, podobně jako když reflektory auta osvítí přes vozovku přebíhající zvěř a po oboustranném překvapení zůstane jen vzpomínka - vjem, jehož skutečnost se dá zpochybnit a nahradit možnou iluzorností mikrospánku, či považovat za výplod fantazie. V Denních přízracích otázku po reálnosti daného výjevu navíc rozostřuje fakt, že se vše neodehrává jaksi „přímo“, ale na ploše dopravních pouličních zrcadel, které sice skutečné jsou a měly by skutečnost tudíž odrážet, ale zrcadlící se události poukazují spíše na realitu snu, bludu, či dětské imaginace. Zneklidňující je snad i jakási existenciální osamělost „přízračných jedinců“. Ti se své podivné činnosti věnují příliš samozřejmě. Jsou plně zaujati sami sebou ve své simultánní realitě, dokud si do ní ovšem nezasvítíme šajnící baterkou a jako divák vyplašené přízraky na okamžik neprolneme s realitou naší.
Fotografický soubor zahrnuje 16 fotografií, čili sedm dvojic „přízraků“ zachycených v noci a toho samého „přízraku“ za dne viditelného pouze ve skleněné ploše zrcadel. Tisky jsou formátu 100 x 100 cm zhotovené vysoce kvalitní technologií lambdaprintu s adjustací na forexu a čirém perspexu.
Popsaný projekt přesahuje hranice fotografie do sféry psychologie, konkrétně vizuálně mapuje potenciální tendence dětského magického uvažování a percepce okolí v závislosti na daném momentu v plynutí času.

Day and night phantoms

Day and Night Phantoms are an imaginary photographic probe into the memories of my early childhood /the time when I believed that the sun was an animal, mushrooms were a meat, that strange beings were moving around in the dark or that I could fly or, better still, that sitting on the rock it would lay a gnome…/ But this list would not be complete without later inspiration I took from horror films and knowledge I gained on psychopathology as related to hallucinogenic experience.
The photographs from the Night Phantoms series depict situations and activities, which are not usual for the hour as captured on them and they do not correspond with the physical age of their protagonists either. They are as if frozen in time, in the moment of surprise, as if the headlights of a car catch a passing animal and what remains after the mutual surprise is just a memory – a sensation which can be doubted and replaced by an illusive image as seen in the microsleep, or be taken for a fancy altogether. In the Day Phantoms the question of realness is furthermore blurred by the fact that the things are not happening “directly”, but are reflected on the traffic mirrors. Even though the mirrors are real and as such they should reflect the reality entirely, the object and events, as reflected on it, hint to the reality of a dream, mirage or child’s imagination. What is perhaps discomforting is some kind of an existentialistic loneliness of those “phantom individuals” who busy themselves by their peculiar activity somewhat too evidently. They are completely absorbed in themselves, in their parallel reality, up to the moment when we light that reality up with torchlight and as a spectator we penetrate it with the reality of ours.
Photographic series contains 16 photographs or otherwise seven couples of “phantoms” pictured first at night and then as caught during daylight in the traffic mirror. The format of prints is 100 x 100 cm, they were made using a high quality technology of lambda print, adjusted on forex and clear Perspex.
The project as described here ventures beyond the boundaries of photography into the domain of psychology, specifically in visual terms it maps potential tendencies of infant magical thinking and perceptions of the environment depending on a given moment in the flow of time.
